About the Enya discography
Enya has released eight studio albums, three compilation albums, twenty-one singles and a number of other appearances. Enya achieved a breakthrough in her career in 1988 with the album Watermark, containing the hit song "Orinoco Flow" which topped the charts in the United Kingdom. Three years later, Shepherd Moons followed. In 1992, a re-mastered version of the 1987 Enya album was released as The Celts. Four years after Shepherd Moons, she released The Memory of Trees (1995), another top five success in both the UK, as well as her first top 10 album in the US. Singles released from the album were "Anywhere Is" and "On My Way Home".
In 1997, Enya released her greatest hits collection, Paint the Sky with Stars: The Best of Enya, again a top five album in the UK, which featured two new songs: "Paint the Sky with Stars" and "Only If...". Following a five-year break, Enya released the album A Day Without Rain in 2000. The album is Enya's most successful to date, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart. The first single, "Only Time" peaked at No. 10 on the US Hot 100.
In 2001, Enya recorded "May It Be", which featured in the first installment of The Lord of the Rings film series, The Fellowship of the Ring. In November 2005, a new album, entitled Amarantine, was released. It reached the Top 10 in both the UK and the US. In 2006, Enya released several Christmas-themed CDs with newly recorded material. On 10 October 2006, Sounds of the Season with Enya, containing six songs, was released only in the United States. In November 2008, And Winter Came... was released. The album is a Christmas- and Winter-themed album and was another sizable hit, reaching the top 10 in many countries, an unusual accomplishment for a seasonal album. Following the release of And Winter Came..., Enya released her second compilation, The Very Best of Enya in November 2009 and took an extended break from writing and recording.
After a hiatus, Enya returned to the studio in 2012, pouring her creative energy into the production of her highly anticipated album, Dark Sky Island. The culmination of her dedication and artistic vision came to fruition when the album was released in November 2015. Garnering praise from critics, Dark Sky Island resonated with audiences around the globe, solidifying Enya's status as a musical powerhouse. The album's commercial success was undeniable, securing a spot within the top ten charts in an impressive sixteen countries worldwide.
She has sold over 26.5 million albums in the United States alone according to Nielsen Soundscan, making her one of the best-selling artists in the country. She has won four Grammy Award and placed five consecutive albums at top ten on the US Billboard 200. Enya has achieved worldwide record sales of more than 80 million, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

The Frog Prince, 1985The film The Frog Prince (released as The French Lesson in the USA) has most soundtrack songs composed by Enya, but only two are performed by her, neither of which is used in the film. They are "The Frog Prince" and "Dreams". |

The Celts, 1987It is a documentary produced by the BBC, with all soundtrack composed by Enya. An album with songs from the series' was released as Enya, later remastered and reissued as The Celts. The series was released on DVD. |

Early work and other appearances by Enya
Enya's musical journey began with her family band, Clannad (Irish folk/new age/rock). Beyond her solo career, she also lent her voice to other artists' songs (see list below). These collaborations showcase Enya's unique talent blending with other creative visions.
- 1983: Ceol Aduaidh album by Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Frankie Kennedy. Enya plays the synthesizer on the song "An Cár Bog Déil".
- 1984: Touch Travel album by various artists. A cassette which included two instrumental tracks by Enya (credited under her real name Eithne N� Bhraon�in): "An Ghaoth Ón Ghrian" (2:04) and "Miss Clare Remembers" (2:02), a demo version of its namesake on later Watermark. Both songs were produced by Nicky Ryan.
- 1985: Ordinary Man album by Christy Moore. Enya does backup vocals on tracks "Sweet Music Roll On", "The Diamondtina Drover" and "Quiet Desperation"
- 1987: The Lion And the Cobra album by Sinéad O'Connor. Enya reads the Psalms 91:11-13, in Irish Gaelic, on the track "Never Get Old".
- 1991: The Driver album by Terry Reid. Enya does backup vocals on track "The Whole of the Moon".
- 1996: Celtic Folk Festival album by various artists. This album includes two unreleased tracks by Clannad: "Horo Gheallaid" and "Dúlamán", songs which were recorded when Enya was in the band.
